St. Joe Chris-mixes it up with new tradition

On December 15, St. Joseph’s Academy held the first ever Chrismix. The Angels took a brain break from studying for finals to participate in the first all-school dance in recent years. The Christmas mixer, also known as Chrismix, was a non-formal dance where every student was allowed to bring one date. Students wore fun, Christmas clothes rather than a dress.

Student council worked hard at putting the dance together, and creating a new tradition at St. Joe.

“It was more lit than a Christmas tree,” junior student council representative Johni Bunkers said.

For the rest of the student body, the positive feedback about the mixer was overwhelming.

“I thought Chrismix was such a fun night with the whole school and that it was just a great way to take a break before finals,” freshman Lily Bayer said.

Sophomore Katie Doorack agreed saying, “I think Chrismix will be a great addition to St. Joe because it was one of the best nights with all of my grade.”

The Chrismix was one of the last dances at St. Joe for the seniors.

Senior Erin Krippene said, “I loved Chrismix because it was a new activity to bring all the students at St. Joe together, and it was just so fun to have all four grades there to make long lasting memories with.”

The dance was a hit as the St. Joe students had so much fun that the administration has agreed to having it next year as well. Freshman Grace Kinzel explained how her favorite part of the night was the photo booth.

“I thought it was so fun that I was able to take pictures with all of my friends, and I am so excited that I will be able to go to Chrismix for the next three years!” Grace said.

Overall, the Chrismix was a huge success for St. Joseph’s Academy. The school community cannot wait to see how Student Council plans to top the Chrismix next year as they begin this new tradition.
