While Angels got to soak up a week of no school, no homework, and no test, it called for a big feast and lots to be grateful for.  While Thanksgiving might not be everyone’s favorite holiday, there are still traditions that every family does.

Some of these traditions include: binge-watching all the infamous Gossip Girl Thanksgiving episodes, running a Turkey Trot on Thanksiving morning, spending time with family, or leaving Thanksgiving dinner early to prepare for the Black Friday deals happening early.

Seniors Maria Mueller and Sydney Gibson, both have the traditional Thanksgiving meal with family.

“ For our meal, we have all the traditional food like turkey, rolls, stuffing, and pie.  Lots of pie. However, after dinner, our whole family picks a name out of a hat for Secret Santa on Christmas.  This is a fun tradition and ensures we have enough time to get a gift,” Maria said.

“We don’t really have any fun or specific traditions for Thanksgiving.  We just have the traditional Thanksgiving food and both sides of my family get together,” Sydney said.

Since the day after Thanksgiving is Black Friday, that means the Angels went shopping.  Black Friday is notorious for great deals, long lines, and full shopping carts.

Senior Grace Zolla was out of town in Chicago but that didn’t stop her from shopping!

“The mall we went to was insane.  I went with my mom and aunt and the mall was so crowded.  Every store was busy and even some had lines outside. I still found good deal through!” Grace said.

Between Thanksgiving and Black Friday, the holidays seasons have begun and that means more traditions to come!
