Maddie Loe Wins JOE Talks Logo Competition!
April 29, 2019
Maddie Loe recently entered a competition for the Sisters of St. Joseph. The Racial and Cultural Justice Committee held a competition for students to draw a logo that could be used for its new J.O.E Talks program series. The J.O.E stands for justice, outreach, and education. Maddie was interested in the competition originally because she likes working with digital media to create art.
She was also inspired to enter the contest by her Joe talk.
“I wanted to enter the competition because I remember when I did my Joe Talk junior year and I truly believe that it is a necessary project that helps students learn more about the issues facing people all around the world,” Maddie stated.
The concept for the design stemmed from what she believed encapsulates the values mentioned in a Joe Talk.
“The background has many drawings of different symbols like books, hearts, the earth, etc. to emphasize the virtues needed to ensure justice in the world, like knowledge, love, and compassion for all people,” Maddie said.
This program series started in April, so be on the lookout for Maddie’s logo!
