The Cross Country team had a great season and competed strong all through the season. On September 30th, Varsity competed at the Greater Louisville Classic.  While Varsity was competing, the Junior Varsity team conducted their own voluntary practice at Forest Park.  After the voluntary practice, the JV team went out to City Coffee House and Creperie in Clayton for team bonding.

The girls celebrated senior night on October 5th at their conference meet.  The senior girls, Audrey Skaggs, Ashleigh Weismiller, Sarah Alexander, Kennedy Orban, and Mary Baker James, received flowers and balloons from the underclasswomen, and the team celebrated with a cookie cake.  On this night, many team members also celebrated the medals they won, including Margie Lodes who won 1st place in the JV race.  Coach K even decided to bring her baby to celebrate the special night!

The JV team then competed at Border Wars in St. Charles at McNair Park on October 13th.  This was a really important race for the JV girls because it was their final race of the season and it was also the race that determined the alternates for districts.  The girls again ran amazing. Later, they found out that they raced in the Varsity race instead of JV and were still competitive, which was really exciting for the team.

Up next was districts in Washington on October 21. The girls raced well, but unfortunately no one made it to sectionals.  This did not bring down the team though, the girls all smiled and gave one last Audrey Circle, a pep talk given every meet and practice by Audrey Skaggs,  to celebrate the end of an amazing season.  The team is excited for the banquet coming up at the end of November.
