St. Joe Day Transforms into the Greatest Show

St. Joe Day, arguably the best day of the year, did not fall short this new school year. It truly lined up with our theme of The Greatest Showman because the activities this St. Joe day were genuinely great. St. Joe Day is a day to recognize our seniors and, of course, kick off the school year with a fun and exciting experience.

The day started with the seniors greeting everyone at the door with enthusiasm, and, of course, their beautiful, personalized capes that showcased their personalities through every piece of fabric they had added. The seniors shone at the pep rally, where each senior was called by name and cheered on by the entire school, as we admired our amazing upperclassmen. A junior at St. Joe, Maya Twenter, said some words that showed how much this tradition is adored.

“I loved watching the seniors run through the gym with their capes. I can’t wait until next year, and we can take their place,” Twenter said.

As students exited the gym and entered the outdoor theater,

they were in awe of the numerous new activities and attractions that this school year had to offer. The bubbles were by far the most memorable. Everyone ran to the bubbles first, getting completely soaked while laughing along with their friends. There was a DJ playing music and keeping the energy high and excited, a fire spinner with amazing skills who inspired a sense of awe while we all watched, someone on stilts chatting with students, and also dancing along with the Angels. And of course, it wouldn’t be St. Joe Day without the help of the Angel Dads making hot dogs for all of us to enjoy and gain energy after such an exciting and exhausting day. A junior, Estelle Paletta, at St. Joseph’s Academy has experienced this magical day three times.

“St. Joe Day reminds me of our school spirit, but mostly of how strong a community we have. I’ve never been to anything like St. Joe Day, and I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything,” Paletta said.

St. Joe Day is an event that everyone looks forward to at the beginning of every school year. Between the bubbles, the music, the food, and the amazing performances, there was never a boring moment. Overall, it showed how much we come together as a community.
