May 23, 2025, was the first official day of summer for St. Joe students and staff! Exams had been finalized, seniors had graduated, and the worried academic minds of students were relieved, each Angel with her own exciting agenda for what the new summer would bring. Many traveled to amazing destinations, visited family, relaxed by the pool, prepared for college, and more. Unforgettable experiences were shared, and new experiences were an exciting way to step out of one’s comfort zone.
A group of St. Joe students traveled to France and Spain over the month of June! Not only did they see beautiful things, but they also made lasting friendships with classmates. The trip allowed the students to view different cultures and learn to admire their unique traits. One event in particular, Fête de la Musique, an annual music festival throughout all of Paris, allowed the girls to explore Paris with their friends. The tradition of a variety of French music, fun decorations, and loud, busy streets was such an experience! One Senior, Sophia Ardekani, spoke about her perspective.
“France and Spain was an unforgettable trip. I became close with many of my classmates and even made new friends in Paris! I strongly recommend this trip to anyone interested,” said Ardekani.
Another student, Junior Posey Marbarger, shared that her favorite part was trying all of the new foods. The big cities, such as Barcelona and Paris, had many popular American fast food joints, but they had different variations on their menus.
“McDonald’s took first place as the most popular restaurant. The place was packed with people, and it was fun to try my favorite items in a different country,” said Marbarger.
Back in St. Louis, students made the most of their summer break! From catching live music at Hollywood Amphitheater, to lounging at the pool, and soaking up the sun. They embraced the warm weather with enthusiasm. Alongside the fun, many students also took on summer jobs, gaining valuable experience while earning extra cash. Junior Charlotte Taqui spent her summer between the Lake of the Ozarks and nannying for the cutest kids!
“I spent a lot of my summer at the Lake of the Ozarks learning how to wakeboard. I have gotten really good, and love taking my friends with me to try and teach them! When I wasn’t at the lake, I was back home babysitting for a few neighborhood families, hanging out with friends, and going to see my favorite country singers at the Amphitheater!” said Taqui.
As summer draws to a close and the school year begins, St. Joe students return with fun memories and new friendships. Whether they were exploring the streets of Spain and France, learning new skills at the lake, working summer jobs, or simply relaxing poolside with friends, each student made the most of her well-earned break. With hearts full and spirits recharged, the St. Joe community is ready to take on a new year—refreshed, inspired, and united by a summer well spent.
