After having a Mission Month last year, instead of the usual Mission Week, everyone was happy to get back to normal.  Students were able to sell food again as well.  In addition, Music for the Missions and the teacher talent show were in person again.  Finally, the selling of mission week clothing was back to normal.  There was a mad rush of people, many items sold out, and many students traded clothes to receive their favorite items. This is always one of the most beloved part of Mission Week.

It is a tradition that seniors get to sell hoodies, sweatpants, and an accessory.  Juniors get to sell a bro tank, shorts, and a long sleeve shirt.  Sophomores usually sell a T-shirt and pajama pants, but this year due to supply limitations, only sold a T-shirt.  Lastly, the freshman class  sells a T-shirt design.

The senior apparel was all inspired by Aviator Nation.  Juniors had a pink floral theme for the long sleeves and shorts, but their bro tanks were outer space themed.  Sophomores sold a purple rainbow T-shirt, and the freshmen sold a retro-themed shirt.

Everyone wanted to buy the seniors’ clothing.  Because of this, they quickly ran out of everything.  People had to pre-order the sweatshirts and matching sweatpants to get at a later date.

Sophomore Abby Dickson experienced her first real Mission Week.

“Although it was upsetting that I could not get the sweatshirt and sweatpants to wear all week, there was so much more to look forward to for Mission Week,” she stated.

Many students split their money between friends in hopes of purchasing the right items of clothing. Often, one or two people go to each grade level and they get the items in bulk for each of their friends.

Sophomore Alli Schimweg was one student who tried this method for her first Mission Week rush.

“I was assigned the senior table so I got each of my friends’ sizes and money so that I could get everything,” she said

This is why you could see people walking around with huge piles of clothes in their hands.  They most likely bought for the rest of their friend group.

With the ability to reorder the senior hoodie, many people are content.  They will end up getting the clothes that they wanted, but could not get on Mission Day.  Overall, everyone is happy and proud to be a part of this huge fundraiser for Peru and Uganda.
