The Class of 2020 went to Grant’s Farm because of their competitive attitude last year when it came to selling their raffle tickets. On Thursday, Oct. 12, their reward for selling all their tickets was given and they had a fun filled day.

The reward is the best part of it all. The sophomores got the chance to create new memories with their class, while celebrating their win.

While at the famous St Louis attraction, students received VIP status that few get to experience.  They were the only people at the park for the day and had private elephant and bird shows, a lunch provided by staff and went on an extended tram tour.  Plus, they got to feed the baby goats.

“Visiting Grant’s Farm was such a fun experience because I got to see the cute animals and be with my friends,” sophomore Ellie Eisenhart said.

The sophomore class knows how to come together to win a competition when it really matters. Hopefully, they will demonstrate that class spirit is important to the new freshman class this year.

“Working together as freshmen to beat the upperclassmen was a great accomplishment for our class and created an opportunity for us all to come together,” sophomore Allie Westphale said.

As one could imagine, the upperclassmen, while happy for the sophomores fun activity, were not too thrilled about this defeat. While the sophomores were out feeding goats, the upperclassmen had to attend regular classes.

“I was stunned we couldn’t come together and beat them because we are a pretty close-knit class. We were so close to winning, and it was annoying thinking that could have been us,” senior Kristen Weber said.
